Welcome to OWL Special Needs Learning Centre
OWL (Occupational, Wellness and Learning) is a privately owned learning centre for special needs children. OWL is managed and run by Monika and Barbara Wassermeier, sisters who gave up their corporate careers to pursue their passion and dream, helping special needs children and their parents. Monika and Barbara realised the importance and the need in helping the community with a service that is often hard to come by.
Our children’s ages that we care for range from 4 to 16 years but we realise that each child is unique in their own way, so we evaluate each child according to their disability to ensure we can assist and take care of them in a way that best suits them.
The children we care for are unique in their own special way and disability. These children are often not accepted in public or mainstream schools and we create a special place for them where they will feel right at home.
We keep our classes to a maximum of 8 depending on their needs. Each class has their own teacher and facilitators. Children with their own caregivers are welcome. As each child is unique, an individual development program is set up for each child to monitor and achieve their goals. Progress is monitored and reported and discussed with the parent or parents
We are conveniently located at 4 Douglas Road, Bedfordview. OWL opens at 7:00 and remains open till 18:00. Activities run from 08:00 and 16:00. We open from Monday to Friday and we close on weekends and public holidays. We also close during the December holidays.
